In chronological order, the following crime incidents were reported as of July 10, 2006:

Aug. 16, 2006, 3:00pm: US Park Police Confrontation with Armed Men on Powder Mill RD

Spring 2006: Theft via open Garage Door

Early Summer 2006: Theft from Auto in Home Drivceway

US Park Police Confrontation with Armed Men on Powder Mill RD.

      • At about 3:00PM, Tuesday August 16th, US Park Police exchange gun fire with armed suspects in a car on Powder Mill Rd. Three men were taken into custody, while two others fled on foot. At this time, We have received no reports of suspecious persons in Sumner Grove area. Notwithstanding, an email broadcast and phone calls went out to urge residents to keep garage doors closed and to be alert.

Spring 2006: Theft via Open Garage Door - Spring 2006

      • It was reported during the Community comment period of the last board meeting that a resident, in the entrance section of the commenity, had lawn equipment stolen from the garage. This incident happened during mid Spring, 2006. Residents reported seeing a car with youths circulating the community, apparently profiling homes to invade in this manner. Do be aware that open garages, particularly when no neighbors are outside, may be at risks. More details on this incident will be reported as they become available.

Spring 2006: Theft from Auto in Home Drivceway

      • It was reported during the Community comment period of the last board meeting that a resident, in the middle section of the commenity, had property stolen from an automobile parked in the driveway. This incident happened during early Summer, 2006. Residents reported seeing a car with youths circulating the community, apparently profiling cars for break-in. Do be aware and report suspicious activity. More details on this incident will be reported as they become available.
