---- ---- ------A Sumner Grove Online Community Space -------Sumner Grove Community Day 2008- |

The Moon Bouce is probably the best emblem of these events, since it's 90% about the children having a sense of "who" is their community.

Even if that includes fans of a certain football franchise!

Actually, not a few fans of a certain football franchise!

Paulette working her magic...

The usual suspects at the grill, Joe and Chris. Both are bored, certifiable, cardio-catalysts don;t you know.

The grub was plentiful and on!

Hey mista .J. Mash it tup.

The good old days in real time for the youth.

At this age, an ice cold one is just juice, and just as refreshing on a warm afternoon.

Here again, two wheel vehicles underscore the "kid-centric" theme of the day. Where in the first Sumner Grove Day, out-of-shape dads feigned at playing pick-ip basketball, this year, not even the mention of hoops. Meantime, the kids were on all manner of frightening one, two and three wheeled stuff!

A group of parents execise in the shade...,

But hardly with the enthusiasm of the young folks!

That's o.k. The parents will be represent'n again NEXT year!

You gotta see this one skateboard with the wobbly skateboard that has only TWO wheels. If you are over 25 it will make your bones hurt just to see them ride the thing.

A more conventional cruisemobile!

A few precious reasons to slow down when driving through the community.

Not to be preachie, but a couple more...

Not sure which parents stepped to the plate to coordinate games for the children, but major tanx again.

Looks like Joe has been working on that lawn! You go boy!!

Oh, you thought I was joking about three-wheelers?

Actually Winston had TWO TVs on tap. So both games could be seen that afternoon. Well done folks. It always starts off like a chore, and who's got money to spend. But once it comes together and you see how much fun the children have, it makes sense to try to keep it going. Thanks Winston, Paulette, and everyone.
